Origin · Confluence Series use raw mineral clay as its primary material, combined with discarded metal, sand, and concrete collected from construction sites. The work draws on iconic pottery forms from the prehistoric “Painted Pottery Road,” reinterpreting them through a process of flattening. This visual compression of three-dimensional painted pottery serves as a metaphor for the passage of millennia. The deconstruction and reassembly of painted pottery culture and fossil imagery offer an artistic reflection on the relationship between human creation and natural life.

Rooted in traditional hand-built ceramic techniques, the work adopts an experimental approach by integrating the melting properties of industrial waste into the ceramic firing process. As a result, traces of discarded copper, iron, and gravel remain embedded on the ceramic surface as mottled textures. The juxtaposition of concrete and ceramic materials further emphasizes the collision between history and contemporary reality.
